Egwa Tawa Dee Lodge
Order of the Arrow

"For he who serves his fellows, is of all his fellows, greatest"
- Dr. E. Urner Goodman

July 30 - August 4, 2018 (plus travel days)
Indiana University, Bloomington IN

The National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC) is the premier event of the Order of the Arrow, and is Scouting's second-largest national event. In 2018, several thousand Arrowmen from across our nation are expected to gather at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

You will be able to play dodge ball, capture the flag and numerous other games. PLUS - if you don't like to cook, this is the trip for you! All the meals are prepared for you in the college cafeteria. You will be staying in the dorm rooms on campus.

There are ceremony and dance team competitions. There is an awesome OA Trading Post and NOAC hosts the second biggest patch trading event (first being the National Jamboree). There are exhibitors with the latest in camping and outdoor equipment and High Adventure trip planning that you can go on. Interested in the history of OA? See it in the Museum of OA and Scouting History.

NOAC not only has lots of fun opportunities but it's educational too! You will attend classes to improve your leadership skills that you can bring back to your unit and Lodge or learn what it's like to be a Lodge Chief.

Other classes include OATR training, helping the Boys in Blue, Webelos to Boy Scout crossover, conducting a Vigil Callout ceremony and many more.

Cost - The contingent fee includes NOAC registration, lodging and meals, travel costs and contingent “goodies”. Because many of the contingent expenses have not been determined it is too early to lock in a guaranteed contingent fee. But for family budgetary purposes this fee should probably not exceed $750.

Attendance - Due to expected interest and capacity constraints at Indiana University the National Committee of the Order of the Arrow has informed our lodge leadership that they are implementing a membership-driven delegate allocation per lodge and instituting a 3:1 youth to adult ratio.

What this means is at this time Egwa Tawa Dee lodge has been allocated 30 delegates for the 2018 NOAC, 23 youth and 7 adults. While we hope to be allocated additional delegates at a later date we have to proceed with our current allocation. Under these imposed restrictions it is not in the best interest of the lodge or fair to our members to adopt a “first to deposit, first to attend” policy. For these reasons the lodge leadership is implementing the following course of action for registering your interest in attending NOAC as a part of our contingent.

All Brothers, both youth and adult, interested in attending NOAC with our lodge contingent should complete the 2018 NOAC Contingent Interest Form as soon as possible. The national registration site opens October 2nd, 2017 for delegate registration (the $100 deposit per delegate due at this time) The lodge will request additional delegates during this initial registration based on the number of submitted Contingent Interest Forms.

Reviewing the 2018 NOAC Contingent Interest Forms the Lodge Executive Board (LEB) will select contingent participants based on their level of current and future involvement with the lodge. Our goal in selecting participants will be that attending NOAC serve to inspire and train our future lodge leadership. Once notified of selection for the contingent the $100 deposit will be due to reserve the contingent slot.

ADULTS - Staff registration is scheduled to open on October 2nd, 2017. Interested adults are encouraged to apply for a staff position. Check https://oa-bsa.org/pages/content/noac-2018-information for the latest information/updates concerning staff registration.
