Our council is hosting a Woodruff Workers Weekend May 11-13, 2018 at Woodruff Scout Camp. There is a planned day of service for that Saturday intended to provide repair and maintenance to help get the camp ready for summer camp.

This event is open to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, and adult volunteers. Participants may come for the day on Saturday or camp for the weekend. Lunch will be provided on Saturday.

Pre-registration is required at; AtlantaBSA.org/woodruffwork

In keeping with our Order’s purpose Egwa Tawa Dee will support this endeavor as a Lodge Day of Service. Lodge members participating in this event will earn service hours, Egwa Totem Service beads, and the 2018 Lodge Day of Service patch (some restrictions apply). These service hours will count towards the “Service to Scouting” requirement of the 2018 Egwa Service Hawk Award.

As usual for our lodge service projects, bring work gloves, water bottle, rain gear, wear work clothes with an Egwa t-shirt and bring your BSA Annual Health and Medical Record, parts A and B.

And yes, we realize this is Mother’s Day weekend and is also bookended by the Lodge Induction Weekends, not to mention graduations, and all other potential conflicts, but this is the date chosen by our council so it is the date we support. It is understandable that many of our Brothers will have personal conflicts and obligations that will prevent them from participating in this event, however for those who are able and willing we will see you there.
